her beautiful name is written across the soft, gleaming sand...

...so to speak.

That artsy piece right there *points of image above* was the outcome of just one out of many creative - sometimes freaky - things our faithful, hardworking crew members came up with when going through their breaks in between takes.

Well, other than desperately trying to stay warm and not get hypothermia, of course.

That's just what's bound to happen when you try shooting beach scenes, at the beach (d-duh!), at the very peak of winter.

But that was exactly what we did!
And, thank God, we survived, frostbite-free. *winks*

FYI, when shooting their parts, the cast members had to wear conventional Indonesian high-school uniforms. You know, the usual white shirt and the gray, ruffly skirt?

We all know for a fact that other than being universally-known as extremely dull and uncool as far as teenage fashion goes, this infamous white-and-gray ensemble also lacks enough provision of the adequate level of protective warmth needed to survive the gloomy days of winter. It certainly is a far cry from the kind of stuff one would normally wear to ward off frosty winter chills and the like.

Go figure.

For your point of comparison, this was what our crew members typically bundled themselves up in.

And this was what our main actresses had to wear during their scenes.

Yeah. That really puts things into perspective doesn't it?

Can you imagine how COLD and FREEZING they must've felt?
Where are those fancy wool coats and portable heaters when you need them?

But no, not even once did they complain. They went through their scenes professionally, regardless of the extremely unwelcoming weather. Their only shield against the chill was a bright-blue towel that crew members wrapped around them whenever they finished doing a scene. That, and the occasional sudden presence of a spare jacket, sometimes provided by fellow crew members as a token of genuine kindness, at other times possibly seized by force. *laughs*

"Am I holding this light-reflecting device thingy right?"

Oh, a random fact: We even came across a stray jellyfish!

Poor thing wanted to join the shoot, perhaps?
You may not make the cut for the movie, not so we hope, but we're putting you up here! :)

At the end of the day, it all wasn't so much about how perfect the resulting shots were as it was about how important and memorable all the little moments that happened in between were to all of us personally.

The experiences we gained are just priceless.
And we mean that. Sincerely.

There you go, fellas.
Enough said. *smiles*

And yeah.
We do hope the actual stuff you'll all get to see in the screening will be as good as we really want them to be. We've put our hearts into trying to make this movie a memorable and meaningful experience for you guys, and we hope we'll be able to achieve our targets and get the messages across.

Be sure to watch out for more updates, only on this blog.
